Cyberbullying has emerged as a serious concern for teenagers in Bangladesh. With the widespread use of Facebook, TikTok, and messaging apps, harassment can now follow victims everywhere, even into their homes.
What is Cyberbullying?
Cyberbullying includes sending threatening messages, spreading rumors online, sharing someone's private images without consent, and deliberately excluding someone from online groups.
Warning Signs
Parents and teachers should watch for these warning signs that a teenager may be experiencing cyberbullying:
- Sudden withdrawal from devices or social media
- Emotional distress after using phone or computer
- Reluctance to discuss online activities
- Changes in mood, behavior, or school performance
What To Do
If you or someone you know is being cyberbullied, document the evidence, block the bully, report to the platform, and tell a trusted adult. In serious cases, contact law enforcement.
